HUNTINGTON BEACH
The City Council agreed this week to help pay for three homes for Habitat for Humanity, the nonprofit organization that provides housing for low-income families.
At an average cost to the city of $95,000 each, two residences will be constructed in the 2400 blocks of Florida and England streets, with the third in the 2500 block of England Street. The city will donate the lots and pay escrow and Planning Department fees.
Habitat will build the homes using volunteer labor and donated materials.
