Union Friends Boost Smith
* Union leaders did more than send flowers to county supervisors on Valentine’s Day, as reported on Feb. 26.
According to Board of Supervisors Chairman Charles V. Smith’s recent campaign disclosure statement, eight chapters of organized labor contributed $5,500 to his campaign, accounting for almost one-third of the total $17,490 raised.
Guaranteeing quality work, as Smith claims, is a noble cause; getting contributions from friends is better.
