A 57-year-old Canoga Park man was killed late Friday after his vehicle veered into a parked car near Parthenia Street and Corbin Avenue, police said.

The man was driving a GMC Yukon west on Parthenia when he swerved across the road and struck a Nissan Sentra about 10:20 p.m., said Officer Steve Cohen of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.

The driver’s air bag inflated, but he suffered bruises on his neck. Paramedics said he died in the crash, Cohen said. The victim’s name was withheld Saturday, because his family had not been notified of his death.

The crash knocked the Sentra into a Ford Escort parked in front of it, Cohen said. Valley Traffic detectives are investigating the cause of the accident.
