Trek Off Beaten Path Leads to Deals on Fine Furniture

Share
SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

There’s a bargain source off the beaten path in a low-rent district where fine furniture is sold at discounted prices.

Family operated Consumers Furniture carries names such as Lexington and Broyhill on the floor for 25% to 40% under retail. One reason for the reductions is that the firm’s owners don’t have to pay rent; they own the building.

The styles are mostly traditional in design and displayed in the 22,000-square-foot showroom. Of special interest are the Action Lane recliners at $279 (retail $499) and a group of sofa and loveseat close-outs from Mike Cims for $799. Also check out the close-outs on items from Lexington. Mattresses from Sealy and Diamond are offered at about 25% below retail.

Interiors 2000, a design service with licensed designers, is available to assist customers whether they are doing one room or an entire home. Check out its Web site, consumersfurniture.com, where you can access a $50 discount coupon that can be printed and presented at the store.
