Fiscal 2000 Net Drops at National Technical Systems

National Technical Systems Inc. in Calabasas reported a net loss for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2000 ended Jan. 31 of $1.1 million, compared to net income of $1.2 million for the fourth quarter of fiscal 1999. Revenues dipped to $19.9 million from $20.8 million. For fiscal year 2000, the company reported net income of $805,000, down from $2.6 million the previous year. Revenues were relatively steady at $84.1 million compared to $86.8 million.

Income was affected in part by softness in the aerospace industry and charges in the fourth quarter due to the settlement of litigations over a property loss, the company said.

National Technical Systems provides quality and conformance testing and managed services for telecommunications and information technologies.
