A 67-year-old man, who was shot repeatedly as he sat in his parked Corvette, died early Tuesday morning, police said.

Frank Arnold was pronounced dead about 2:30 a.m. at Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center, more than three hours after the shooting, police said.

Arnold was sitting in his white 1989 Corvette in the 100 block of West 60th Street when someone fired four to six shots from a semiautomatic weapon into his car, said Det. Richard Arciniega. One of the bullets hit Arnold in the torso. The gunman was seen running from the area.
