It’s a Close Call at Bigfoot

Share

Talk about boogie nights. . . . (Marky) Mark Wahlberg and Vince Vaughn almost got mowed down in front of the Bigfoot Lodge last week. Word has it that the two actors got into a pushing match at the Atwater Village bar with some local yokels, who hopped into a car and tried to drive up the sidewalk, aiming for ‘em. The Lodge’s doorman flexed his flashlight at the car, saving los amigos. Hmmm, musta been something in the At-water, ‘cause we saw Mark chilling like a non-villain a couple nights later at Casa Vega in Sherman Oaks (the Valley’s answer to El Compadre on the Strip). . . . Oh, hello. Ron Bushy, the drummer in Iron Butterfly, just rang. Seems he wasn’t in drag at the Burgundy Room, as reported in last week’s Club Buzz. Seems there’s a Ron Bushy impersonator running around Hollywood, introducing himself as the drummer in Iron Butterfly. Here’s what’s bizarre, though: The real Ron Bushy, who is on the Vetrock 2000 tour with ‘fly this summer, picked up a hitchhiker mucho, mucho an~os ago, who also claimed to be Ron Bushy. Yo, yo, yo, this one’s for Duchovny, m’an.

Those of you who don’t want to wait in line to check out Club Makeup at the El Rey Theater can now see it online at https://www.clubmakeup.net, but don’t let the colorful Web site keep you from hitting the even more colorful dance club at least once. This Saturday’s Makeup includes a performance by Glamnation and will be hosted by our favorite Arquette, Ms. Alexis. . . . Sunday’s Todd McCormick benefit at the House of Blues is the first in a series of fund-raisers for the medical-marijuana activist’s legal fees. McCormick, a bone cancer patient, was recently sentenced to five years in federal prison. Although he might’ve been protected under Proposition 215, passed by California voters in 1996, he was prosecuted by the feds. In the words of the Clash, know your rights. . . . All right, it’s time to dust off that lime-green homecoming dress, ‘cuz we’re crashing Blink-182’s punk rock prom this weekend. Do you think they’ll believe me if I say I’m with the band?
