About 5,200 jogging strollers are being recalled by the manufacturer because of safety concerns, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

BOB Trailers Inc. of San Luis Obispo has received seven reports of the wheels of its BOB Sport Utility Stroller and BOB Sport Utility Stroller D’lux coming loose because of faulty wheel connectors.

A jogger could lose control of the stroller, or the stroller itself could collapse because of this defect, injuring the child inside, the commission said. No injuries have been reported as a result of this flaw.

The strollers affected by the recall have three wheels and are blue and black or green and black. Each stroller has a canopy and a “BOB” logo on its frame, canopy and seat back.

Retailers and Web sites nationwide sold the strollers from November 1998 through March 2000 for about $280 to $370.

Consumers should immediately stop using the stroller and return it to the store where they purchased it or to BOB Trailers for repair.
