Police found a human torso after a college student allegedly blurted out that he killed and dismembered his landlady and led officers to sites where he said he disposed of the parts.

Police arrested Vadim Mieseges, 27, a native of Switzerland, on suspicion of murder in the death of Ella Wong, 47, who was reported missing April 30.

Mieseges was taken into custody Monday by security guards at a shopping mall after he was seen acting erratically and then threatened them with a wooden dowel from a store display.

When police arrived, he “suddenly blurted out” that he had killed and chopped up the woman with whom he shares an apartment, scattering her body parts around the city, police Deputy Chief Richard Holder said Wednesday.

Mieseges, a computer science student at San Francisco State University, led investigators to at least three locations. The torso was found Wednesday in Golden Gate Park, police said.

Wong, a hospital secretary, had rented a room to Mieseges in a four-unit apartment house.

Wong’s neighbor, Dee Dee Chiu, said she had difficulty fathoming what happened to Wong.

“She doesn’t drink. She doesn’t smoke. She doesn’t party. She’s a very, very friendly person. She gets along with everybody. I can’t imagine someone doing this to her,” said Chiu.

Chiu said Mieseges seemed harmless.
