GARDEN GROVE

Assistant City Manager Catherine Standiford has been named governor-elect of the Desert Coast Region for Soroptimist International of the Americas. A member of the Garden Grove chapter, she has been active at the local and regional level for 10 years.

Standiford will begin a two-year term as governor-elect in July and will begin her term as governor in July 2002, also for two years. She will represent 50 clubs from eastern Los Angeles south to San Diego and west to Yuma, Ariz. Soroptimist is a service organization. The Garden Grove chapter has raised more than $145,000 for local projects since its inception in 1987.
