Mike McCrary will continue to serve as head of the Police Department. The City Council on Monday approved a three-year contract for McCrary with an annual salary of $100,200. McCrary has served in the position for 14 months, and city staff recommended the hiring because the city has decided not to pursue consolidation of police services with Cypress. Although McCrary initially said he didn’t want a permanent position, as he is retired, he has changed his mind and wishes to stay on as chief. Information: (562) 431-3538.
