A City Council candidate will be making an appearance at Martinez Books and Art Gallery on Thursday.
Deputy District Attorney Claudia Alvarez will be at the bookstore, 1110 N. Main St., from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. She is running for the council seat in Ward 5, which is currently held by Tom E. Lutz. There is a suggested contribution of $30.
