A workshop on understanding and managing school-age asthma will be held tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room at McAuliffe Middle School, 4112 Cerritos Ave. Presented by the Los Alamitos Unified School District PTA Council, the workshop will feature J. Carlos Maggi, medical director of pediatric pulmonary and critical care at Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach.
Maggi will discuss the psychology of the disease, current medications and dealing with emergency situations. Parking is available in the lot on Bloomfield Street. Information: (562) 799-4700, Ext. 422.
