* Today’s Southern California Film Festival lineup at A Captain Blood’s Village Theatre in Orange:
8 p.m. Fred McLeod Wilcox’s 1956 sci-fi classic, “Forbidden Planet,” about a space mission that happens upon an expatriate (Walter Pidgeon) and his one-man empire. Co-star George Wallace (Commander Cody) and his sidekick Robby the Robot will greet fans and introduce the film.
10 p.m. Collection of short films, including “The Curio Trunk” by Duane Stinnet and Krissan Shipley; “The Yellow Badge of Courage” by Peter Barnett, John Kelley and John Cameron; and “Diablo II, The Calling” by Matt Samia.
