Good Advice on Tax Question, Investing

* I emphatically applaud Liz Pulliam Weston’s answer to the couple who wanted to avoid taxes on their $60,000 emergency fund. Of course their approach is tax fraud [“Schemes for Sheltering Cash May Incur Something Worse Than Taxes,” Money Talk, May 7].

Especially pertinent is her observation of the message sent to their children. Kids have a hard enough time growing up in today’s environment. They don’t need such poor examples at home.
