Man Held on Assault Charge in Bar Fight
An Oxnard man has been arrested for holding a gun to the head of a bar patron during an after-hours argument in the bar’s parking lot, authorities said Monday.
Tyrone Murrow, 22, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, possessing a handgun with a serial number removed and brandishing a handgun.
A citizen stopped a passing Oxnard patrol car to report a fight at the Metro Bay Club just before 2 a.m. Saturday. At the bar, police contacted a security guard who had detained two men involved in the dispute.
But a witness to the fight pointed to a third man, Murrow, who allegedly held a handgun to the temple of a bar customer during a fight in the parking lot.
Officers searched the area and found a 9-millimeter pistol with a loaded magazine concealed in nearby bushes. Murrow was booked into the Ventura County Jail.
