* Thomas Pearson has been appointed vice president of internal audit for the Ryland Group, Woodland Hills. He will be responsible for financial and operational audits within the company.

* Andrea Korfin has been promoted to president of the technical staffing group at National Technical Systems, Calabasas. She will be responsible for all operations of the group.

* UNOVA Inc., Woodland Hills, announced the appointments of James A. Herman and Kyle H. Seymour as senior vice presidents of the corporation.

Herman will become group executive of Lamb Technicon’s global group of companies based in Warren, Mich. The division provides manufacturing systems design and engineering services to the automotive industry.

Seymour will be responsible for the company’s Landis Grinding Systems and Cincinnati Machine Divisions. The division provides precision grinding technology for engine manufacturing.
