Mercury is in conjunction with Mars tonight, and you might see the two planets close together and only 5 degrees above the western horizon at 8:15 p.m. Mercury is quite bright. Mars is much fainter and only 1 degree (two moon diameters) to the left of Mercury. Use binoculars.
