Consumer Portfolio Services Reports Loss

Irvine-based Consumer Portfolio Services Inc., which purchases, sells and services automobile sales contracts, reported a first-quarter net loss of $11.1 million, or 55 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $2.1 million, or 14 cents a share, for the year-earlier period. Revenue fell to $374,000 from $20.8 million.
