The Dana Point Youth Board has added improving beach quality to its list of goals. The 11-member board of Dana Hills High School students voted unanimously last week to add the issue to its list at the suggestion of City Councilman Wayne Rayfield, who said the Youth Board can help alert citizens of the importance of water quality to Dana Point.

The board also created a committee to look into the issue and explore how they could best satisfy Rayfield’s request.

The board was created last month by the City Council in an effort to give Dana Point youth a voice in city decisions.
