Agent Arrested on Forced Sex Charge
Following an investigation by the state Department of Corrections, authorities arrested an Oxnard parole agent suspected of forcing at least one parolee to have sex.
Roger Larry Webster, 50, was taken into custody without incident early Thursday by internal affairs officers, said Deborah Star, a deputy regional administrator for the department.
He was charged with one felony count of forced oral copulation under color of authority and a misdemeanor charge of engaging in sexual activities with a confined adult while a public employee, officials said.
Webster, a Ventura resident who has worked for the corrections department for 20 years, is free on a $100,000 bond. Department officials have placed him on paid administrative leave, pending the conclusion of the investigation, Star said.
Officials declined to give details of the investigation or the accusations.
Webster is not the first corrections employee to be accused of forcing sex on those in his charge.
Last year, a teacher at the California Youth Authority in Camarillo was sentenced to four years in prison after admitting to having had sex with female wards.
