Train Explodes After Derailing

Freight cars loaded with hazardous chemicals exploded and caught fire after a Union Pacific freight train derailed in Eunice, La., sending fire balls into the sky and forcing the evacuation of thousands of people. No injuries were reported. About 3,500 people were ordered to evacuate homes and businesses up to 2 1/2 miles from the wreck. State police Sgt. Richard Hazelwood said 29 cars derailed and at least 10 caught fire.
