Protecting Dunes

A letter writer says that her family will no longer be able to visit the dunes near Glamis because the Bureau of Land Management has banned off-road vehicle use (Oct. 27). Maybe they should try walking.
Dunes (and the creatures who inhabit them) don’t have the money of the off-road vehicle industry to buy them votes in Congress. They depend on us “environmental extremists.” It’s about time the BLM stopped being the Bureau of Lumber and Mining and started protecting the land for all the future generations.
