Services Available for County’s Voters

Want to vote early? Do you know someone who is visually impaired and wants to vote? Do you want to use a ballot in a language other than English?

Anyone answering yes to these questions can take advantage of special voting facilities at nine locations in Los Angeles County.

Registered voters may cast ballots at those locations, which employ the touch-screen process--similar to using a bank ATM--instead of paper ballots.

People with visual impairments may cast ballots independently by using raised touch-screen pads and audio headsets, registrar officials said.

Voters will have the option of using a ballot in Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Tagalog or Vietnamese.

The early voting sites will be open every day through Nov. 6--the day before the general election. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Locations include three registrar’s offices: 12400 Imperial Highway, third floor, Norwalk; 7807 S. Compton Ave, second floor, Los Angeles; and 14340 W. Sylvan St., Van Nuys.

Other locations: Beverly Hills Courthouse, 9355 Burton Way, first floor; Centro Maravilla Community Center, 4716 E. Cesar E. Chavez Blvd., Building B, Los Angeles; Lancaster-County Regional Center, 335-A East Ave. K-6, Lancaster; LAX Courthouse, 11701 S. La Cienega Blvd., sixth floor; Los Angeles City Elections Office, 700 E. Temple St., basement; West Covina City Hall, 1444 W. Garvey Ave., first floor.
