Clinton Cancels North Korea Visit

From Times Wire Reports

President Clinton will not go to North Korea during his trip to Asia this month but still may make an unprecedented visit to the Communist country before he leaves office in January, the White House said. The U.S. and North Korea ended three days of talks Friday in Malaysia without agreeing on a way to curb North Korea’s missile program--the chief obstacle to a possible trip by Clinton. “The president has not made a decision on whether he’ll go to North Korea before the end of his term. He will, however, not go to Pyongyang at the end of his upcoming trip to Brunei and Vietnam,” White House spokesman Jake Siewert said.
