SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

A La Habra man who doused his wife with gasoline and set her on fire was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison Monday.

Guy Leslie Baker, 46, was convicted in September of arson and torture after the Feb. 17 attack in the family’s La Habra apartment. Jasmine Espinoza Baker, 37, was left with permanent scars from second- and third-degree burns on her neck, arms and hands.

The victim’s 62-year-old mother was also injured while trying to put out the blaze.

Both women were hospitalized for more than a month, authorities said.

Baker could be eligible for parole in seven years, a spokeswoman for the Orange County District Attorney’s office said.
