Nixon Won and Lost

* Re “For the Loser, a Sudden Lonely Silence,” Nov. 6: Richard Nixon lost to JFK in 1960 and lost the governorship of California two years later to Pat Brown. However, he put it back together by 1968 and was elected president. So there are cases where the loser can become the winner. I might add that Nixon was ultimately a loser, since he got up to his dirty tricks with Watergate that forced his resignation in 1974.
