Georgia Firm May Buy California Software

California Software Corp., an Irvine maker of products that help IBM applications change over to Windows and the Web, said Wednesday that it has tentatively agreed to be acquired by a Marietta, Ga., company in a stock swap.

California Software said in a press release that the purchase by UniComp Inc. would create a company with annual revenue of $26 million to $30 million.

California Software, which trades over the counter, gained 6 cents Wednesday to close at $1 a share. Executives were unavailable to provide the number of shares the company has outstanding.

Shares of UniComp, which provides electronic business software and services, gained 6 cents to close at 69 cents a share. It has 8.3 million shares outstanding.
