Staining Scheduled for 3 Crosswalks
City workers will be staining three downtown crosswalks of Ventura Boulevard shades of brown today and next Friday.
The staining is one of the final touches of Phase II of the Old Town redevelopment project, which includes narrowing the street from four lanes to two in downtown and widening the sidewalks.
The changes are meant to improve the aesthetics of the downtown and attract more people to the area.
Some parking will be disrupted during the eight-hour staining process and one of the travel directions will be detoured onto side streets.
