The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has proposed changes to bus service in the San Fernando Valley and will hold a public hearing Saturday before the revisions are adopted.

The 10 a.m. hearing will be held in the MTA’s board room on the third floor at its offices at One Gateway Plaza, next to Union Station in downtown Los Angeles.

Proposed changes will affect more than 30 bus lines citywide. The MTA board is scheduled to vote on the changes at its Nov. 30 meeting.

In the Valley, three bus lines--all along Ventura Boulevard--are being considered for changes in service.

Stops for two local bus lines, the 240--which runs along Reseda and Ventura boulevards--and the 150--which also runs along Ventura Boulevard, may be changed, said Ed Clifford, MTA director of service planning.

The new, rapid bus 750 line, which debuted in June and makes fewer stops, also runs along Ventura Boulevard.

Bus stops for this line may also be changed.

Buses along Ventura Boulevard carry about 12,500 passengers daily, about 9,000 of whom ride the Ventura 750 rapid bus line.

In September, the MTA lengthened the wait time for the local 240 and 150 bus lines during rush hours. Instead of arriving every five minutes, the buses arrive every seven minutes.
