Health Screenings Available Monthly

Share

Free health screenings are being offered by Ventura Senior Services in cooperation with Project Understanding, the county Public Health Department and the city of Ventura.

The screenings test each month for diabetes, high blood pressure and body fat content. The screenings also provide referrals for health management education and counseling, as well as monthly seminars on medical issues, nutrition and cooking.

“The west side of Ventura will benefit from these free health screenings, which are designed for this working community and for those who do not have health insurance or who fall though the cracks of the health system,” said Marcia Ortiz, community services supervisor. “We hope that working community members will take advantage of the evening clinic hours.”
