Ballet Excerpts to Be Performed at Mall

Channel Islands Ballet will perform free excerpts from “The Nutcracker” at the Pacific View Mall in Ventura at 3 p.m. Sunday.
The company, which recently took up residence at the Cal State Channel Islands campus in Camarillo, will also give three full-length performances at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center in December.
Jennie Seider of Camarillo, a principal dancer with Channel Islands Ballet, will perform the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy in the company’s 21st annual production of the holiday favorite.
Students from dance schools in Ventura, Oxnard, Camarillo and Simi Valley will perform.
The performances will be in collaboration with the New West Symphony and Ventura Master Chorale Children’s Concert Choir.
Full-length performances will take place at 3 and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2 and 3 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, 800 Hobson Way.
Ticket prices range from $12.50 to $30 each. Group prices are available. For ticket information, call 384-8558.
