Driver Killed When Car Is Hit by Truck

LANCASTER — A man was killed Friday night after his car was struck by a truck that ran a stop sign at 30 Street West and Avenue G, authorities said.
The driver of the truck suffered moderate injuries in the 6:45 p.m. accident and was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies were investigating whether the truck driver was driving under the influence of alcohol, said Sgt. John Perez of the Sheriff’s Lancaster Station. The victim’s name was unavailable pending notification of relatives, Perez said.
