Stelyani Sandris, 61, who, under the name Estelle Changas wrote articles for Film Quarterly, Film Comment and The Times Calendar section during the 1970s. Born in Detroit, Sandris graduated from UCLA, where she also received a master’s degree in film history and criticism. She turned to film after postgraduate work in European history at American University. Sandris was production coordinator on the Francis Ford Coppola film “One From the Heart” and worked for many years in the U.S. office of the New South Wales Film Corp., which distributed many well-known Australian films in the United States. As a documentary filmmaker, she co-produced “Just One Step,” a feature-length independent production on a march for nuclear disarmament in 1986. On Nov. 13 of a brain tumor in Bethesda, Md.
