Jeanette Gardner was appointed to the Historical Committee last week to fill the spot vacated recently by Elvia Torres.
Torres, appointed in April 1988, recently submitted her resignation from the committee because of mounting job and family pressures. Gardner has been working with the committee as a volunteer for several months.
The Historical Committee serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council on matters related to historical structures and sites in Placentia, and nominates buildings and sites for designation as local landmarks.
