Ammer Leaving Disney for Revolution Studios

* Walt Disney Co. marketing executive Geoffrey Ammer is leaving the company to join Revolution Studios, the production company founded by former Disney studio chief Joe Roth. Ammer will oversee marketing and distribution by Sony Pictures when it releases Revolution films under the distribution agreement between the two companies. He also will work on the company’s online marketing. In addition to Roth, Ammer also previously worked with Revolution executive Tom Sherak when they both were at 20th Century Fox.

Ammer had split his Disney marketing duties with Oren Aviv, serving as co-president of the company’s Buena Vista Pictures Marketing. With Ammer’s departure, Aviv becomes sole president of marketing, Disney said.

* Todd Schoen has joined Fox Family Channel as vice president of affiliate marketing and local ad sales. He comes from MTV Networks, where he served as vice president, affiliate marketing for VH1.

* Justin Yaros has been appointed senior vice president and chief information officer for Sony Pictures Entertainment. He replaces Steve Heckler, who is leaving the company Friday to “pursue other opportunities,” the company said. Yaros, who will be responsible for developing long-term information-technology strategies, had been at 20th Century Fox, where he was chief information officer.
