Father Asks U.S. to Help Retrieve Son

A Florida man whose ex-wife took their 5-year-old son to Cuba without telling him met with State Department officials to seek help in getting the boy back. Since Jon Colombini is in contact with his ex-wife and son in Cuba, the department hopes the parents will work out their differences on their own, a department official said. Colombini, 31, of Homestead, Fla., says his U.S.-born son was taken two weeks ago by the boy’s Cuban-born mother, Arletis Blanco, 29. The couple has joint custody.
