Free Health Clinics Offered for Seniors

Ventura Senior Services will offer monthly clinics that include free screenings for diabetes, high blood pressure and body fat content.

Referrals for health management education and counseling, as well as seminars on health, nutrition, cooking and MediCal, are also provided.

Early evening hours are offered for working community members.

Screenings are available from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the third Friday. Free health seminars will be offered from 10 to 11 a.m. the first Friday of the month.

The first health screening clinics are scheduled for Thursday and Oct. 20. The first in the series of health management seminars will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday., featuring “Cooking for Healthy Eating.”

The clinics are being offered in cooperation with Project Understanding, Ventura County Public Health Department and the city of Ventura.

The clinics will be held at the Ventura Avenue Adult Center, 550 N. Ventura Ave.
