GARDEN GROVE
The board of directors for the Garden Grove Sanitary District voted unanimously last week to approve an agreement with the Orange County Sanitation District for $47,000 in grant money.
The funds will pay for about half of the total estimated cost of installing closed-circuit television equipment throughout the city’s sewer system. The $94,000 project is part of the district’s master plan, which recommends inspecting 25% of the sewers over the next 10 years by using television technology. So far, less than 3% of the sewage system has been inspected with the use of closed-circuit equipment.
The grant money will be awarded once the project is completed.
