Drag racer Cory McClenathan, from Anaheim, is looking for a job for the first time in 10 years.

Tuesday, Joe Gibbs, owner of the MBNA Top Fuel dragsters McClenathan has driven since 1995, announced he was ending his drag-racing program after the 2000 NHRA season.

McClenathan has 24 Top Fuel wins in his career, and 20 of Gibbs’ 33 as a team owner, including a record-equaling six in successive starts that spanned 1997-98.

McClenathan will continue to drive for Gibbs in the four remaining races, including this weekend’s AutoZone Nationals in Memphis, Tenn., where he is a two-time winner, and the season-ending Auto Club Finals, Nov. 9-12, in Pomona.

Citgo Petroleum Corp. ended its longtime deal with Wood Brothers Racing to sponsor Jeff Burton’s Winston Cup car. Burton’s new sponsorship begins Sunday at Lowe’s Motor Speedway and continues through next season.
