A park known to residents for years as the Vaqueros, or Cowboys, Park for its western town motif will undergo a complete renovation beginning in November.

The changes will include demolishing the remaining fort-like wooden and stone structures of what was once a small western town for kids to play in, complete with a sheriff’s jail that local kids called “the castle.”

The renovation will also bring about new playground equipment and surfacing, expanded picnic areas and a new irrigation system and landscaping.
