HUNTINGTON BEACH
Residents are invited to a community forum to discuss flood insurance rates at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Murdy Community Center, 7000 Norma Ave.
Local real estate agents will host the meeting to discuss flood control and insurance in the city, as well as the rights of residents when choosing an insurer.
Earlier this month, the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s National Flood Insurance Program Community Rating System classified the city a Class 7 on a scale of one to 10, with one being the highest, moving down from a Class 8, which resulted in a 15% reduction in insurance premiums for residents living in flood zones.
