LAGUNA BEACH
Mayor Kathleen Blackburn presented 16 awards to residents who won the city Arts Commission’s third annual Senior Art Competition.
The competition, with categories in oils, acrylics, drawing, photography, watercolors and mixed media, had 40 entries from Orange County seniors. About 85% of participants were from Laguna Beach, said Sian Poeschl, city arts coordinator.
Winners received certificates Saturday in decorative frames that were made by Laguna Beach artist Monica Prado at a reception at the downtown Wells Fargo Bank. The winning pieces will be displayed at the bank, 260 Ocean Ave., this month. Information: (949) 497-0722.
