Star Tours

The planet Uranus is easy to find this month--if you have binoculars or a small telescope--because it lies near a fairly bright star which can guide you to it. Capricornus is in the southwest after dark. Uranus is 1 degree to the right of the star Iota Capricorni, and it is one-fourth as bright as the star. Uranus is 1.78 billion miles from Earth, and the star is 100,000 times as far as Uranus.
