Jane Emilie Atmore-Mead, a former Santa Paula resident and homemaker, died Tuesday at her home in Concord, Calif. She was 39.

She was born June 8, 1961, in Santa Paula, a fifth-generation descendant of a Santa Paula pioneer family that had moved to California at the beginning of the Gold Rush.

She attended school in her hometown and was a 1979 graduate of Santa Paula High School. In 1984, she graduated from the University of California at Davis.

She had worked in medical offices in the Bay Area and was a homemaker. She volunteered at her children’s school and was active in the PTA, where she served as treasurer and organized fund-raisers.

Atmore-Mead enjoyed reading, baking and gardening. She always shared things from her garden with family members and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Daniel Mead of Concord; two sons, John and Patrick; her parents, Jyl and Allan Atmore of Santa Paula; two brothers, Thomas Atmore of Hawthorne and Douglas Atmore of Palo Alto; and her maternal grandmother, Evelyn Botsford of Redding.

Services are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Universalist Unitarian Church in Santa Paula. Dr. Alexie Crane and the Rev. Melitta Haslund will officiate.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Santa Clara Valley Hospice in Santa Paula or to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, P.O. Box 29316, San Francisco 94129.

Arrangements are under the direction of Skillin-Carroll Mortuary in Santa Paula.
