Bail Reduced for Girl, 14, Facing Murder Charge

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge on Friday reduced bail for a 14-year-old girl charged in the May killing of a student outside Hoover High School in Glendale.

The bail for Anait Ano Msyran, who was charged as an adult with first-degree murder, was reduced from $1 million to $250,000. Judge Larry Fidler ruled that if the family cannot raise the money, it could put up $500,000 worth of property as security.

Msyran allegedly used her mother’s car to drive 18-year-old Karen Terteryan and 15-year-old Rafael Gevorgyan to Hoover High. Officials say the pair then stabbed and beat 17-year-old Raul Aguirre to death in front of about 50 other students.

Afterward, Msyran allegedly tried to help Terteryan escape.

Terteryan and Gevorgyan are part of the Armenian Power gang, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Darrell Mavis. Msyran was “at least affiliated” with the gang, he added.

Terteryan and Gevorgyan remain in custody on $1 million bail.
