5 Cited in Sale of Alcohol to Minors
Five men were cited for selling alcohol to minors during a sting operation conducted Friday night and early Saturday by Oxnard police.
Between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m., police volunteers between the ages of 17 and 19 visited a total of 23 businesses that sell alcohol. Included were bars, restaurants, markets and liquor stores, police said.
Those cited were Circle K clerk Ismael Aguilar Jr., 28; Express Mini Mart clerk Amin Muhammad, 32; Kenneth C. Klein, 44, a bartender at Jolly’s; Robert O. Zamora, 32, a Liquor Cellar clerk; and Raymond R. Winters, 44, a Texaco clerk.
The men, all of Oxnard, were cited on suspicion of selling or furnishing alcohol to a minor, which is a misdemeanor. If found guilty, they are subject to a possible fine. Each business also faces administrative action by the state’s Alcoholic Beverage Control office.
