Sixteen people were arrested on suspicion of minor drug and alcohol offenses and up to 26 others were treated for being under the influence at an all-night Halloween rave party at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena, police said Sunday.

More than 29,000 attended the event and no major problems were reported during the party, which began at 7 p.m. Saturday and ended at 6 a.m. Sunday. “Our department was fully aware of this . . . and it turned out to be a very peaceful event,” LAPD spokeswoman Charlotte Broughton said.

The arrests were made throughout the night.

Those party-goers requiring medical attention were taken to nearby hospitals, where they were treated and released, officials said.
