A mere 2 1/2 inches on page 3 of the Business section was devoted to a report that the charges against the college dropout from the Philippines who started the “Love Bug” virus were dropped (“Charges Dropped in ‘Love Bug’ Virus Case,” Aug. 22).
This incident should have been followed more closely and reported more boldly to point up the importance of the U.S. to lead the way to create international laws and enforcement of Internet regulation.
Without the infrastructure--which must be global--we are all at risk. The contagion factor is too enormous to be overlooked.
