Cherokee Earnings Up; Stock Buy-Back Reported

Cherokee Inc., Van Nuys, reported net earnings for the second quarter ended July 29 of $2.8 million compared to $2.2 million for the second quarter last year. Revenues rose to $7.7 million from $6.4 million.
Pursuant to the board’s authorization Aug. 1, the company said it has repurchased and retired 482,000 shares of its common stock.
Cherokee markets, licenses and manages a variety of branded lines of clothing, luggage, accessories, cosmetics and footwear.
